Job Description
Completes tasks associated with general pressroom activities in accordance with company standards.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Keep production area waste containers emptied.
Place clean press waste in provided storage shelves in the warehouse according to size and weight.
Helps to maintain a clean and organized pressroom.
Assist assigned helpers and 2nd pressmen with opening of carton stock required for longer run jobs.
Opens rolls and controls roll stand. Off load product from stacker-packer as needed.
Assist press operators in filling ink fountains and loading feeders during make-ready operations.
Assist press operators during wash-up operations.
Replenish materials and supplies such as fountain solutions, wash-up solvents, rags, ink, etc., at production units as required.
Enter job numbers, cost centers, operation codes, into Monarch.
Performs all assigned work efficiently and on schedule.
Follows instructions accurately.
Keeps work area neat and clean.
Obeys company rules and observes all safety regulations.
Assist press operators with preventative maintenance of production units, as required.
Improve skills by learning from others and studying written procedures and instructions.
Operate or assist on other pressroom equipment as required.
Job Requirements: Knowledge, skills and abilities: Intimate knowledge of the mechanics and capabilities of press operation. Good eye for color, Mechanical aptitude. Must have the ability to understand written job instructions.
