Job Description

Tomato Bros. is currently seeking a Support Person to join our team.  This position may lead to a server position in the future.  This position in the first point of contact for our guests, so the successful applicant will be personable, professional, and provide excellent customer service. The Host/Support is responsible for greeting guests, providing accurate wait times, escorting customers to the dining and bar areas, and ensuring our guests have a positive experience from the moment they walk in the door until they leave. Other duties will include learning multiple support positions, like bussing, server help, to-gos, running orders, and others as assigned.

Responsibilities:  

• Welcome guests to the venue 
• Provide accurate wait times and monitor waiting lists 
• Answer phones, take messages, and book and manage reservations 
• Escort customers to assigned dining or bar areas 
• Provide menus and announce server's name 
• Greet customers upon their departure 
• Coordinate with wait staff about available seating options 
• Maintain a clean reception area 
• Cater to guests who require extra attention (e.g., children, elderly) 
• Assist service staff as needed 
• Learn a variety of support positions to aid service staff 
• Any other relevant duties as assigned by supervisor or management 

Requirements:  

• Understanding of restaurant etiquette and service functions 
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations 
• Demonstrable customer service and multi-tasking skills 
• Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully, both over the phone and in person 
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to monitor the entire dining and bar area 
• Responsible, enthusiastic, reliable, and professional demeanor 
• Willingness to be cross-trained into other areas 
• Commitment to excellence in your job 
• Availability to work in shifts as needed 
• Good physical condition to walk and stand during an entire shift 
• Must have access to reliable transportation
