Primary Purpose: The LPN Travel Nurse (LPN/or RN) is under the supervision and guidance of the Regional Director of Nursing, Director of Nursing (DON) and the Executive Director (ED) of the Community in which they are assigned. The Travel Nurse will assist the DON and the Executive Director of the Community in the day-to-day operation of the residence support services and supervises the health care given within the residence.
The Travel Nurse must not leave the Community during their shift. In the case of a personal emergency, the RDON, the DON and the Executive Director of the Community must be notified. The Travel Nurse will not leave the premises until properly relieved.
The Travel Nurse may be assigned other duties by the RDON, and/or DON and the Executive Director of the Community.
Qualifications/Skills Needed:
Education – Graduate of a state accredited Nursing school. Licensed as an LPN or RN in the state in which services are performed. License must be in good standing and active, without restriction. Must have a current CPR Certification.
Experience – Prefer experience with the elderly in a nursing home, assisted living or residential setting.
Language Skills – Must possess the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Must have the ability to effectively communicate and follow both written and oral instructions. Must adhere to and comply with all verbal and written policies and instructions set forth by the Morning Pointe Community.

The Travel Nurse is responsible for the coordination of health care needs of the residents during their shift. As team leaders, the Travel Nurse provides direct supervision of the Resident Services Assistants and Certified Nursing Assistants during their shift. They must keep the DON and the Executive Director of the Community informed of significant changes in residents, staff and facility.
Physical Demands:
This position is classified as HEAVY, requiring exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to life/move objects. Functional requirements include constant standing and walking. Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, bending, turning and stretching. Finger and hand dexterity required. Visual and hearing acuity essential. Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions necessary. Ability to perform basic mathematical computations required.
