Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Commercial Junior Construction Estimator to join our team. This position plays a critical role in the preconstruction phase, responsible for preparing accurate and competitive bids, developing strong subcontractor relationships, and ensuring clear scopes of work for successful project execution.
Responsibilities:
• Perform accurate quantity take-offs by thoroughly reviewing plans, specifications, and related project documents.
• Gather relevant plans, quotes, and specifications, and solicit applicable subcontractor and supplier proposals.
• Compile detailed scopes of work, qualifying and quantifying subcontractor and supplier bids.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and conduct site visits to gain full project understanding.
• Develop and maintain a solid network of subcontractors and suppliers; expand relationships through clear and effective communication.
Qualifications:
• Experience in commercial construction estimating.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
• Strong understanding of commercial construction methods and processes.
• Proficient with computers and construction estimating software.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and related documents.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
