**This project does not have per diem**

This is a Federal Contract that will be paid according to the Davis Bacon Wage Decision associated with the project contract

 

We are a fast-paced, growing construction company that delivers safety, quality, and on-time work, that specializes in heavy civil construction that includes earthwork, concrete work, steel erection and more.

The Equipment Operator - Roller/ Compactor will provide support to successful completion for road grading while operating and maintaining equipment.

Operate all heavy equipment like front-end loaders, and other related equipment. Operate the equipment in the right direction and angles to prevent accidents and damage of property.

Operate and manage the equipment or machines in a safe and secure way. Perform periodical safety, maintenance, or servicing checks to ensure proper functioning of the equipment. Perform minor repair works when malfunctioning occur.

Inform and advise the supervisor or equipment manager for major repairs or major maintenance.

The ideal person will be self-motivated and have attention to detail, have a working knowledge of construction equipment and techniques.

Requirements:

  • Drive and control the equipment
  • Perform road work, excavation work, lifting work, etc.
  • Respond to signals and directions by the staff and work in coordination with them
  • Maintain proper coordination and cooperation with the road and transport system while driving/working
  • Perform periodical safety and maintenance checks
  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum 2 years' experience with operating heavy equipment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • This position operates at professional construction sites, requiring the ability to communicate with verbally others on site, in person and over the telephone, ability to read printed materials, signs and directions, stamina to maintain attention despite interruptions, ability to lift, push, pull, carry, handle or feel objects, supplies, tools, machinery and/or controls weighing up to 50 pounds and reach with hands and arms; climb stairs and/or ladders; balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift overhead, traverse around or otherwise position one's self around the required work and safety requirements to navigating and perform activities on various construction sites in a safe manner.
  • Will be required to work on project sites and operate vehicles, trailers, machinery, equipment and other tools within local, state and federal safety guidelines.
  • This position operates in a professional field environment. The position requires working outside, frequently for long periods of time in all weather, including extreme hot and cold temperatures.
  • While working, the employee might be exposed to various chemicals, vapors, pollutants, virus or other air-borne pathogens, gases, uneven surfaces, loud noises, moving vehicles or machines and dust/debris.

Preferred Skills and Abilities:

  • 3 or more years' experience with operating Heavy Equipment
