Job Description

Spur, a digital staffing agency, seeks hard-working and punctual food service workers to substitute for the Child Nutrition Program for Fairfield City Schools. The ideal candidate will be able to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment, adhering to the rules and guidelines set by the school.

The primary responsibilities of this position are performing routine duties involved in preparing and serving food as part of the kitchen facilities and equipment operations and cleaning under the supervision of the cafeteria manager or designated supervisor. Candidates are always expected to represent the school and program positively and professionally.

Duties expected of this position are:

• Arranging food and beverages to serve them to students and staff safely and efficiently.
• Cleaning utensils, equipment, food storage, preparation, and serving areas.
• Inspect food items and supplies to verify the quantity and specifications of orders and to comply with mandated health standards.
• Interacting positively with students, staff, administration, and the general public to establish a friendly and welcoming environment for customer dining.
• Conducting an inventory of food, condiments, and supplies to ensure the availability of items. Maintaining food service equipment.
• Maintaining strict confidentiality concerning student records.
• Performing other duties as assigned. Must be able to lift or move heavy objects up to 65 pounds.

Qualifications

• Must obtain a State of Alabama Background Check ($48.00)
• Required Online Training

Compensation

• This position pays $ 15.00 per hour
• Must be available to work 6:30 am - 2:00 pm or longer Monday - Friday when school is in session. (Hours vary per location)
